education design: SUMMER SPECTACULAR
The Hippodrome is home to an incredible Education Department, which provides a multitude of camps and classes for children, teens, and adults year round. The crowning jewel of Hippodrome education is Summer Spectacular, an annual theatre summer camp for kids and teens (ages 5 to 18) covering all aspects of theatre production and culminating in public performances on the Hippodrome stage.
I have had the privilege of holding a Marketing workshop with the students for the past couple of summers, wherein I talk with them about the importance of poster design and help them to create their own posters for their summer camp productions. After the workshops, I compile each group's designs to create souvenir collage posters for the kids and their parents. Below are some of my favorites, which you can click to enlarge.
